Rebar Estimator
Position Overview:
Perform routine, moderate and complex rebar estimates and related accessories in accordance with plans and specifications provided, industry standards and/or established practices and procedures.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Use care to ensure the efficient use of materials, fabrication methods and timely delivery of finished products are taken into consideration.
- Utilize computer software like aSa Estimating software to create an estimate or use basic tools like paper and pencil to do a quick estimate.
- Proceed alone on assigned projects and serve as project team member on large projects or function as a team leader on smaller, less complex projects as directed.
- Review instructions or direction from the Chief Estimator, Estimating team leaders, or Engineering Manager with regards to projects assigned and to assist with problem resolution or coordination of estimating activities.
- Assist or check work of less qualified or less experienced Estimators on related work or projects.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Technical degree and/or equivalent
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to lift and/or move moderate to heavy objects.
- Typical office activities.
- Walking, sitting, standing, and bending.
- Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment
- Lifting/handling computers and related equipment
- Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus.
- Moderate noise level when at the office high level when at the shop or site visits.
